Whendi's Bears

I came across Whendi Meagher on flickr when searching for images to use for an article we have written about old toys and the memories people have with them.
She is a bear maker, and produces these completely loveable mohair vintage style bears. These handmade whimsical creations I think would be perfect to reflect aspects of our article. They look like they have had a life and have a story to tell, and the little imperfections they have that look like they have been a very well used and worn out toy make them even more endearing. After contacting Whendi she has told us that she would feel very happy for us to use her images :)

The Latest Craze - Shame Parties

Freature from The Sunday Times Style.

I read this article in last weekends Sunday style. It is all about the latest craze, which is starting in America 'Shame Parties'. Cosy get-togethers where people share their teenage diary extracts, shameful love letters both received and the ones you were too embarrassed to send. Im sure there must be a drink or two to get the stories flowing!!
I won't be organising one anytime soon though...I'm not too sure if the UK is ready for it yet.

Tim Smith - 90 Second Photo

http://www.tismith.com

Tim Smith's work challenges the coventional photograph as being a fixed piece of print and instead is veiwed on screen. Making you as the veiwer more involved with the medium and objects relationship to the world it was created from.
I especially like '90 Second Photograph' as shown above. The increasing feeling of being an outsider looking into another persons life as the picture zooms right out to the eventual physical photograph is both heart warming and unsettling.

Merging COuples

One of mine and Annas for an article on our Blog about couples, is the idea of the more time some couples spend together, they almost end up looking like eachother. This is from the clothes they are wearing, hairstyle, characteristics, mannerisms, facial expressions, and even their facial features can begin to look similar! The spanish photographer Reclarkagable, shares this belief with us too!
Love this photography and concept!

Matching WOrking COuples

Due to our main Blog being focused on couples, and looking at the similarities, differences and any patterns/trends we can spot.
The Sarar Spring 2010 campaign features models Carmen Kass and David Gandy in matching workwear and formalwear. Couples who like to coordinate, take note of these styles, which range from well-tailored business-ready suits to luxe-casual pants and shorts.
